WNAM MONITORING: As part of his working visit to Türkiye to participate in the 3rd Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye.

As reported by Turkmenistan’s official media reported on Friday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for accepting the invitation to visit the country and participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the invitation to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum. Seizing the opportunity, the National Leader of the Turkmen people warmly congratulated Erdogan on his 70th birthday, conveying warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

On the occasion of the birthday, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan presented the Turkish leader with a traditional Turkmen içmek.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan for the congratulations. He also emphasized that he considers the conferral of the honorary title “Hormatly il ýaşulusy” (Honorary Elder) by Turkmenistan as a visible symbol of the unwavering friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and peoples.

During the meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.

Following the negotiations, several bilateral documents were signed, including:

  • Declaration of Intent for cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon resources between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye;
  • Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation on the development of partnership in the natural gas sector between the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye;
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmenistan Airlines OJSC and University of the Turkish Aeronautical Association.
