(WNAM Monitoring): President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution on the establishment of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan free trade zone (FTZ).
According to the document, the zone will be situated in the Shavat district of the Khorezm region and is intended for the organization of infrastructure for storage, sorting, marketing, and transportation of goods. The trade zone will offer services related to the reception, storage, and sorting of products using modern technologies.
The FTZ will also function as a free customs zone, allowing retail trade operations with goods produced exclusively in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Foreign citizens and stateless individuals on the territory of Uzbekistan will be required to pass through a separate checkpoint based on travel documents, and their return is permitted only through the same checkpoint.
The trade zone will permit the free movement of individuals, vehicles, and goods.
Buildings and structures in this zone will be leased to entrepreneurs through electronic online auctions.
