(WNAM Monitoring): The event is attended by representatives of WIPO and EAPO, leading foreign experts in commercializing intellectual property, and heads of more than 30 technology parks from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
“In recent years, Uzbekistan has been paying special attention to intellectual property development. Since the first days of independence, the country has been a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization, within which we are improving our legislation and law enforcement practice. The experience of foreign countries, especially neighboring ones, with which we have established close cooperation, is significant. We hope that creating conditions for the protection of intellectual property and their protection will contribute to developing the country’s economy. Another important point is receiving income from intellectual property”, said Yesemurat Kanyazov, head of the Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. “Our entrepreneurs should strive to sell their products with added value. Today, Uzbekistan’s intangible assets are estimated at $70 billion and exceed tangible ones, so it is important to embody the valuable ideas of our scientists, research organizations, and educational institutions and encourage them to obtain rights to intellectual property and become their owners”.
In the lectures of foreign experts, special attention was paid to the legal nature of the license agreement for the use of intellectual property, the basic principles of concluding and executing contracts, and the assessment of intellectual property.
