WNAN REPORT: The last Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan marks the International Quds Day, named by the initiative of Imam Khomeini (R.A) the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in 1979. The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is one of the symbols of unity among the Muslims all over the world, during which, support and solidarity is extended to the Palestinian nation and the Palestinian cause. This day is an opportunity to remember more than 70 years oppression of the Palestinian nation and to renew the commitments regarding the formation of an independent Palestinian state based on the principle of self-determination.

In the current situation of the world, the Israeli regime, denies peace and human rights and it has committed genocide and hybrid crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, as a result of which, more than one hundred thousand innocent children, women and men have been martyred or injured, and the buildings and infrastructures of the Palestinian people ruined.

While commemorating Quds Day and reiterating the need for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based upon a referendum through the participation of the Palestinians, it highlights that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to protect Palestinian rights and Palestinian cause. The embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran appreciates the government, people and public opinion of Pakistan for the strong positions against the crimes of the Zionist regime.

Few days ago, the Zionist regime violating all international laws and regulations, targeted the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria. In this crime, seven Iranian military officials who were present in Syria to help the people of Gaza and Palestine were martyred. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan, while commemorating Quds Day and re-emphasizing the need for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on holding an election with the participation of all Palestinians, announces that Quds Day is an increasing global campaign to condemn violence, genocide, terrorism and discrimination and an opportunity to insist on the rights of the Palestinian people for self-defence and the right to self-determination. The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the importance of the complete freedom of Palestine as a central issue in the Islamic world, and the necessity of confronting the occupation and expansionism of the Zionist regime, establishment of ceasefire in Gaza and sending humanitarian aid.

It invites all Muslims and free thinkers all over the world to join the campaign of the International Quds Day – 2024 to support the cause of free Palestine as the emblem of Unity and Integrity among the Muslims world.
