WNAM MONITORING: A round table was held in Dushanbe dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. The event was organized as part of the official visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan.
The round table was held at the Center for Written Heritage at the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan with the participation of scientists and cultural figures from the two countries. They discussed the issues of studying the rich literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, which is deeply and comprehensively studied both in Turkmenistan and abroad.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people wrote the poem “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi”, dedicated to the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature. The round table participants emphasized that the work of Magtymguly Fragi is a valuable national treasure and an integral part of world culture. His works have been translated into many languages, including Tajik, and are widely known and loved in Tajikistan.
Centuries later, the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi does not lose its relevance; it reflects eternal universal values – patriotism, humanism, a call for peace and creation. It was noted that celebrating the anniversary at the international level would contribute to a wider dissemination of the poet’s creative heritage, as well as strengthening the humanitarian dialogue between countries and peoples.
