WNAM MONITORING: During the elections to the subsidiary bodies of the Council held within the framework of the ECOSOC Organizational Session, Turkmenistan was unanimously re-elected as a member of the UN Commission for Social Development for the period 2025-2029.

The country will therefore continue to serve in this body, of which it has been a member since 2020 after its previous election. The Commission deals with the formation of a coherent policy in the field of social development at the global level.

The re-election of Turkmenistan demonstrates the recognition of the country’s contribution to the activities of the Commission and the trust of other UN member states.
