WNAM MONITORING: Representatives of the UAE delegation took part in the opening of the exhibition of archaeological finds of the Emirate of Sharjah, held at the Art Residence of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, as well as in the opening of the exhibition “Samarkand – the Cradle of the National Drama Theater” in the Art Station gallery.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition “Samarkand – the Cradle of the National Drama Theater” was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Bin Khalid Al Qasimi, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, representatives of the UAE embassies in Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan in the UAE, the delegation of the UAE and the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region.

At the event, Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi was informed about the exhibition exposition and the activities of the outstanding Uzbek actress Sara Ishanturayeva, who laid the foundations of dramatic art in Uzbekistan in the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition made a great impression on the guests.

“The exhibition tells the story of the actress and other famous artists”, said exhibition curator Durdona Kulmatova. “Its goal is to form a generation of actors who will tell about the fate of Sara Ishanturayeva and other public figures of Uzbekistan who devoted their lives to art and education”.

The exhibition’s main collection covers the period from 1924 to 1937. It consists of paintings depicting the backstage life of the theater staff, archival documents, and personal belongings of Sara Ishanturayeva and Abror Khidoyatov, including costumes, props, and decorations. The collection also includes later photographs of the actress and a video interview with a story about her by her granddaughter, Nodira Khidoyatova.

For information, during her 70-year creative career, which began in Samarkand, the actress performed more than 100 roles in theater and cinema. She has received numerous awards for her work and social activism.

In addition, members of the UAE delegation visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, where they got acquainted with the conditions created for students to receive a quality education. They also inspected the ecological corner organized on the educational institution’s territory.
