ISLAMABAD(WNAM Report): Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Islamabad Capital Police jointly organized an awareness walk to promote a healthy lifestyle and say no to drugs. The participants in large number including those representing the business community, friends of Police, sportsmen, members of civil society, students of Sweet Home, and other educational institutions walked should to shoulder raising awareness against drug abuse and drug trafficking.
The Chief Guest Inspector General Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi while addressing the participants said that Islamabad Police is determined to make the capital a narcotics free society in collaboration with the business community of Islamabad.
He said that Islamabad Police under his command is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy for all types and forms of drugs to save the young generation from the curse.
He made a passionate appeal to everybody to come forward and join this campaign to purge not only Islamabad of this evil but each and every nook and corner of the country for the safety of future generations of the motherland.
He also sought business community’s cooperation in the treatment and rehabilitation of those who have already fallen victim of the curse to make them equally important members of the society.
In his address President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari lauded Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi for taking the important initiative of making the capital free of every kind of crimes including drug peddling. He said that it is the duty of the entire community to carry forward this solemn campaign to every corner of the country for the bright future of the coming generations. He also reiterated Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry cooperation to all the stakeholders in war against narcotics to develop a healthy nation.
The participants also expressed their resolve to actively play their role in keeping an open eye on the drug traffickers and making the society free of this silent enemy. The venue was decorated with No to drugs posters, placards and advertisements. Former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG Zafar Bakhtawari, Maqsood Tabish, Faizan Shahzad, Fassih Ahmed Khan, Saif ur Rehman,Tehmas Butt, Ch. Mohammad Ali, Abbas Hashmi, Furqan Murtaza, Imtiaz Abbasi, Waseem Chaudhry, Ch. Khalid, Ch. Zia, Nasir Ch., Nisar Mirza Traders leader Yousuf Rajput and other were also present on the occasion.
