TEHRAN: Iranian athlete Sobhan Ahmadi has claimed a gold medal in the 2024 Diamond League in Doha, Qatar.
Ahmadi won the 800m Men’s Final at the West Asian Championship with an impressive time of 1:48.92.
Zakaria Elhalaami from Qatar came second with a time of 1:49.98, while the bronze medal was awarded to Iraqi athlete Mezah Nooruldeen Adil for finishing in 1:50.17.
In addition, Iran’s Mehdi Pirjahan secured a silver medal in the Men’s 400 Metres Hurdles with a time of 50.60.
Lebanese athlete Marc Anthony Ibrahim took the gold medal with a time of 49.84 in the same event, while the third place was claimed by Iraqi athlete Ahmed Jamal Aldirawi with a time of 51.69.
