(WNAM): Kazakhstan’s air defense forces boast the high level of combat preparedness, said General-Major Dauren Kossanov, Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
This year, air crews have improved their skills by 15%, increased flying hours to over 13,000 hours, with the average flying hours of one pilot of over 40 hours, said Kossanov.
Also, in 2023, the specialists of the engineering and technical services have conduced the huge work to improve their skills on maintaining aircrafts, testing different kinds of weapons and military equipment.
This year, the military air forces, air defense forces as well as units and sub-units have taken part in over 30 tactical drills and operational training activities within the Armed Forces as well as within each other, said General-Major Kossanov.
As part of the agreement signed between the Kazakh side and Airbus Military, the country’s air fleet is to be replenished with С-295 aircrafts, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
Transport and military helicopters Mi-35 and Mi-171Sh were obtained. In August, the first bunch of Anka armed drones entered experimental military operation. As of now, the fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles include Wing Loong-1, Anka and Skylark.
By the end of this year, another battery of TOR-2M is to arrive. Early next year, sox Su-30SM planes are to be obtained, said Kossanov.
