ISLAMABAD( WNAM REPORT): Ms. Faiza Shafqat, Trade and Investment Secretary, along with delegation from Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT) Pakistan, held a meeting with Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, Vice Chairperson/Secretary General of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) to hold discussion on all areas of mutual interest aimed at broadening and strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam in IT sector.
In her opening speech, Ms. Faiza remarked that Pakistan and Vietnam have many similarities in their demographics, IT landscape and IT infrastructure. Therefore, she suggested that both countries can learn from each other’s experiences and cooperate towards a mutually beneficial relationship. A presentation on landscape of Pakistan’s IT sector was also given by the MOITT’s delegation during the meeting, especially highlighting investment opportunities in the IT sector.
Recognizing the significance of bilateral cooperation, the Vice Chairperson of VINASA showed keen interest in IT sector of Pakistan and appreciated the efforts of the Mission in connecting the businesses and associations in the IT Sector on both sides.
Ms. Faiza also proposed and VINASA agreed for subsequent meetings connecting all bilateral stakeholders on both sides i.e. Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam, Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan, VINASA, Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITES (P@SHA), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam and Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication of Pakistan.
Lastly, Ms. Faiza thanked VINASA for giving her the opportunity to exchange ideas of cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam on IT sector. She would also love to hear any suggestions and proposals by the Association, to chart a roadmap for achieving our shared goal of strengthened bilateral cooperation in IT Sector, in the shortest period of time. The Vice Chairperson, VINASA appreciated this idea and assured her full support in this regard.
