WNAM REPORT: The White House released a statement providing information about the “Lindsey O. Graham 2026 Russia and Iran Sanctions Act,” a bill that was passed by the House of Representatives and submitted to Trump for his approval.
The statement said that Trump had signed the bill into law.
The law provides for sanctions against high-ranking Russian government officials, oligarchs, and state-owned companies, as well as the imposition of tariffs on the countries that buy the most Russian crude oil and natural gas.
The law also expands the scope of existing sanctions against Iran.
In the US, Republican and Democratic senators had united around a bill spearheaded by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, known for his support of Israel, who passed away suddenly on July 11.
The bill was approved by the Senate on August 7th and then passed the House of Representatives on September 17th, before being sent to President Trump’s desk.
