TEHRAN: The charge d’affaires of the Swedish embassy was summoned to Iran’s foreign ministry on Saturday following allegations leveled against Tehran by a Swedish official.
According to a statement by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following the baseless and biased accusations by a Swedish official against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the temporary charge d’affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday evening by the Assistant Director General for Western Europe.
In the meeting, the Swedish diplomat was notified of the objections of the Islamic Republic of Iran to remarks which were based on false and induced information influenced by the Zionist regime.
In the meeting, the Assistant Director General for Western Europe also rejected the accusations and noted that the release of baseless claims shows the intention of some parties to destroy the long-standing relations between the two countries. Accordingly, it is expected that the Swedish authorities will be more alert to suspicious currents.
The Swedish charge d’affaires promised to convey Iran’s protest to his respective country.
