WNAM REPORT: UN hopes that the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia will yield positive outcomes, Spokesman for UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric told report.
While commenting on the tripartite meeting with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, held in Washington at the initiative of the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Dujarric noted that the UN secretary general appreciated the process of normalization between the two countries.
“I believe that the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the resolution of some bilateral issues have a significant impact not only for both countries but also for the entire region.”
On July 10, a meeting took place in Washington between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan. The meeting was initiated and attended by the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. The meeting was held within the framework of the Summit commemorating the 75th anniversary of NATO.
During the meeting, the parties acknowledged the progress made toward reaching a historic agreement on peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
