WNAM MONITORING: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the New Uzbekistan neighborhood under construction in Fergana.

The Head of state constantly pays attention to creating decent living conditions for the population and developing social infrastructure. Therefore, such projects are being implemented in all regions.

The President visited the construction of this neighborhood in Fergana in 2022 last year. On an area of 300 hectares, 365 multi-storey buildings are being gradually built for 65 thousand residents. These houses have 7, 9, 12, 16, and 25 floors, an innovation in the region’s urban planning.

The first houses and green areas are already serving the residents. 75 houses with 2,887 apartments were put into operation. The “Nurafshon” mahalla was created on their basis. More than 500 families moved here. Two schools and three kindergartens were opened. Children’s screams of joy can be heard in the courtyard on the playgrounds. This year another 25 houses will be built.

For densely populated cities, such areas have essential social significance. Attention is paid to ensuring that the quality and cost of housing correspond to the capabilities of our people.

Modern education, medical institutions, a sports complex, and trade and consumer service centers are being built here.

A small industrial zone will be created on 50 hectares of the neighborhood to employ the population. Enterprises producing food, clothing, textiles, leather and footwear, pharmaceuticals, furniture, and electrical products will begin operating. To date, 5 projects worth 423 billion UZS have been placed. Most importantly, 700 new jobs will be created due to these initiatives being fully implemented.

The neighborhood can be called an eco-city. The New Uzbekistan park, alleys, an artificial lake, and an amphitheater with 4,000 seats were built on 70 hectares. Shrubs and ornamental trees are planted throughout the park, and various amusement rides have been installed.

The Head of state walked through the neighborhood and inspected the work carried out. In the amphitheater, a short concert program took place.
