WNAM MONITORING: During the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the host of France’s public television channel France 2 made discriminatory statements while introducing the teams of Armenia and Azerbaijan. These remarks, believed to be ordered by the French government, violated Olympic values and international law, attempting to undermine Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and escalate tensions in the region.
The Western Azerbaijan Community, the disgraceful displays at the opening ceremony, which offended the dignity of billions of people, cast serious doubts on France’s rationality.
The Community strongly condemned the provocation against Azerbaijan at the 2024 Paris Olympics and demanded France to put an end to such actions.
