Baku: ( WNAM MOITORING): “A total of 99 international observers from 26 countries and 8 international organizations have been accredited to monitor the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for September 1,” Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission announced in a meeting on Saturday.
According to him, the international observers include 40 people from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), 36 from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, 14 from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), 3 from the Central Election Commission of Maldives, 2 from the Central Election Commission of Georgia, 2 from the Central Election Commission of Pakistan, 1 from the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, as well as 1 from the State Election Commission of Montenegro.
The CEC Chairman further reported that to date, 14,506 local observes had been accredited to participate in the upcoming elections.
“Of the local observers, 5,477 were registered by CEC and another 9,029 by the constituency election commissions,” Mazahir Panahov added.
