HÀ NỘI ( WNAM MONITORING): Leaders of foreign Parties and countries have congratulated President Tô Lâm on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.

In his message of congratulations, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un wished the CPV and the Vietnamese people, under Lâm’s leadership, would reap greater achievements in socialism building.

Extending his congratulations, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio highlighted the close ties between Việt Nam and Japan across spheres, from politics and diplomacy to economy, national defence and security, culture and people-to-people exchange, and noted his belief that Lâm, a great and important friend of Japan, will help deepen the bilateral relations.

The PM said he hopes to work together with the Vietnamese leader to elevate the Việt Nam-Japan relationship to a new height in the time ahead.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, another well-wisher, expressed his belief that with his experience, reputation and qualities, Lâm will outstandingly fulfill all tasks.

Belarus wants to promote its ties with Việt Nam on the basis of their traditional friendship, and mutual trust and understanding, he said, noting his hope for continued coordination in implementing agreements the two countries have reached, and outlining cooperation orientations in the time to come.

Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov called the election the result of Lâm’s years-long devotion to national interests.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of Lâm, the CPV would continue the renewal process taken by late General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and the Vietnamese people to successfully realise the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Meanwhile, National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel said he believes that under Lâm’s leadership, Việt Nam will continue its socio-economic development path and efforts for peace and stability in the region and the world.

General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) Party and Minister of Regional Integration Policies of the Dominican Republic Miguel Mejia said the election demonstrates the acknowledgement and trust of the CPV, Party leaders and the Vietnamese people towards Lâm, noting a belief that under his leadership, the CPV will strengthen its solidarity and unity, successfully implement targets set at the 13th National Party Congress, and reap new revolutionary achievements.

The Mexican Communist Party Central Committee also extended congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Lâm, and hoped for stronger relations between the two Parties.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday congratulated Vietnamese President Tô Lâm on being elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee.

In a message posted on the social network X, President Nicolas Maduro expressed his belief that General Secretary and President Tô Lâm will continue the legacy of the late General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, standing firm in the face of great challenges in the future, for the happiness of the Vietnamese people.

On the same day, the Government of Nicaragua also congratulated General Secretary and President Tô Lâm and affirmed its readiness to strengthen traditional and current relations with Việt Nam to move towards building a better, peaceful and friendly world, opening up a common path of cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and mutual affection.

A statement with signatures of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo stated that the Sandinista National Liberation Front, the vanguard of the Sandinista People’s Revolution, is bound in ideal and values to Vietnamese communists, and to comrade Tô Lâm, the head of the Vietnamese State, the Vietnamese people and the glorious Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV).

Nicaraguan leaders also expressed admiration for the CPV and wished General Secretary and President Tô Lâm and the Vietnamese people more success.

Earlier, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez congratulated President Lâm on his election as General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and affirmed Cuba’s firm will in continuing to deepen the close relationship between the two Parties and two peoples.

Many press agencies in Latin America also reported on the election of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam and highlighted the new Vietnamese Party leader’s determination to continue the legacy of the late General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng so as to protect the national interests, unity, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
