WNAM REPORT: At the Regional Territorial Election Commission meeting, the issue of forming constituencies for holding elections to the Samarkand Regional Council of People’s Deputies was considered.
The Electoral Code states that the number of constituencies for holding elections to local Councils should be equal to the number of deputy seats, – says the Chairman of the Territorial Election Commission of the region, H. Muhammadiyev. – At the recently held session of the Council of People’s Deputies of Samarkand region, 60 deputy seats were determined in the regional Council based on the population. We also got an idea of forming constituencies for these 60 deputy seats.It was decided to form 60 electoral districts for holding elections of people’s deputies of Samarkand Regional Council and to publish in the media lists of electoral districts, their boundaries, number of voters, and addresses.
