WNAM MONITORING: During a meeting of Central Asian leaders and the President of Azerbaijan in Astana, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his well-wishes to his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, for the successful hosting of the upcoming global climate conference, COP29.
President Tokayev emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in addressing environmental issues and combating the consequences of climate change. He stated, “Our countries have great opportunities for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Cooperation in the field of ecology and the fight against the consequences of climate change is of great importance. We face similar challenges, so expanding interaction, increasing coordination, and exchanging experiences on climate agenda issues are particularly significant.”
President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and expressed confidence that the decisions made during the meeting will contribute to further deepening the multi-faceted partnership among the participating countries.
