(WNAM Report): A delegation headed by Saqib Rafiq, President RCCI, comprising Gems and Jewellery and Furniture sector had a fruitful meeting with the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi at Awan E Sadr Islamabad. The issues faced by the Gems and Jewellery sector were discussed in detail, especially regarding SRO 760, value addition, skills development, certification, export potential, Gems& Jewellery Authority and verification of documentation in foreign embassies.
Issues related to the furniture sector including import duty on raw materials, dual checking of containers by ANF, joint ventures and export opportunities were discussed. President Dr. Arif Alvi welcomed the recommendations and suggestions given by the delegation from Gems and Jewellery and Furniture sector and assured all kinds of cooperation to resolve the problems. The President of Pakistan also offered condolence on the death of Mr. Pervaiz Altaf Advocate, elder brother of group leader Sohail Altaf.
RCCI President Saqib Rafiq also gave a brief summary about the upcoming International Gems and Jewelery Show in May next year.
Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, and representatives from Gems and Jewelry Mr. Fayyaz Qureshi, Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, Rana Abdul Qadoos and Saqib Naseem, Ikram Rehman Abbasi, Bilal Javed from Furniture Sector were also present in the meeting.
