Within the scope of the 17-23 August Ibni Sina Week activities, the International Ibni Sina Conference, Award Ceremony and the opening of the Islamic Medical Civilization Exhibition on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Ibni Sina Institute in Ankara on August 16, 2024 took place at the DAKAV Conference Hall in Ankara.
Ibni Sina Institute (ISE) President Gerontologist Dr. Kemal Aydın explained that the establishment of Ibni Sina Institute started in a small room while studying at Punjap University Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, where he went with the International Exchange Program in 1990. This foundation work that started in Lahore took shape in Europe and spread to different countries of the world. Ibn Sina Institute prepares studies and reports in the fields of Health Management and Policies, History of Science, History of Islamic Medicine, Public Health, Gerontology and Geriatrics, Complementary Medicine, Health Education, Human Rights and Sustaible Development.
Ibni Sina Institute (ISE) successfully organized the World Aging Summit (WAS), World Health and Aging Forum (WHAF), International Care Congress (ICC) and International Conference on Human Rights of Older Persons (ICHOP) in 2005 under the auspices of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the participation of 1000 high-level people from 50 countries in cooperation with public, academia, private sector, civil society and international organizations.

On June 16, 2024, the International Ibni Sina Conference, Award Ceremony and Medical Exhibition was held in cooperation with the Ibni Sina Institute (ISI) and the Anatolian Solidarity and Development Foundation (DAKAV). Ibni Sina Institute President Gerontologist Dr. Kemal AYDIN, DAKAV President Hüsamettin KORKUTATA, Serhat KORKUTATA, DAKAV Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors E. State Minister Ahmet Cemil TUNÇ, Former Urfa Mayor İbrahim Halil ÇELİK, Guest of Honor Turkish German Health Foundation President Prof. Dr. Yaşar BİLGİN, Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit GÜRAN, Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, High Specialization University Rector Prof. Dr. Kadirhan SUNGUROĞLU. 2024 IBN SINA AWARDS
Prof. Dr. Esin KAHYA was awarded for History of Science, Prof. Dr. Hayrani ALTINTAŞ for Science and Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bilgin for Science Diplomacy and Sidney RASEKH for Architecture and Art.
INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF SCIENCE, CULTURE AND HEALTH
August 24, 2024 – August 25, 2025 will be celebrated as the International Ibn Sina Year of Science, Culture and Health by the Ibn Sina Institute and was approved by the “Ankara Declaration” of the Ibn Sina Conference held in Ankara.

FLAG CHANGING CEREMONY
Ibn Sina Conference, Award Ceremony and Islamic Medical Civilization Exhibition will be held in Pakistan at the end of 2024. Ibn Sina Institute (ISE) will act as a bridge between Turkish and Pakistani Universities. It was decided to hold the conference in the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States in order.

SCIENCE AMBASSADORS INITIATIVE (SAI)

The Ankara Declaration was adopted by the decision of the participants of the International Ibni Sina Conference, Award Ceremony and Islamic Medical Civilization Exhibition. With the Ankara Declaration, Ankara was selected as the World Science Capital. The rectors of universities in Ankara will be presented with the Science Ambassador Beret. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bilgin was elected as the Honorary President of the World Science Forum. The Science Ambassadors Summit and the World Science Forum will be held every year in the last week of October with the participation of public, academia, private sector, civil society, media and international organizations.
