WNAM MONITORING: Several joint events were held during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
High-level talks in a contracted format and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council were held. During these meetings, the Presidents thoroughly considered issues of further deepening and expanding the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
A historic Treaty on Allied Relations was signed, raising bilateral relations to the highest level of interstate interaction. Intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents were exchanged.
The leaders met with representatives of the two countries’ business circles and launched several cooperation projects.
The heads of state and their spouses participated in a joint concert of art masters from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov saw off President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse at Tashkent International Airport.
