Baku( WNAM MONITORING): Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), met on Friday with a delegation led by Sultan Mohammad Jalal Sikandar, head of the Pakistan Election Observation Mission and Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), who is visiting Azerbaijan to monitor the snap parliamentary elections.
During the meeting, Mazahir Panahov emphasized the close friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Sultan Mohammad Jalal Sikandar inquired about the election process.
Mazahir Panahov underscored that this would be the first time parliamentary elections are conducted across the entire Azerbaijani territory, outlining the commission’s activities and preparations for the upcoming elections.
Highlighting the friendly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, Sultan Mohammad Jalal Sikandar expressed hope that the snap parliamentary elections would be conducted transparently and fairly, in full compliance with the country’s Election Code.
He also commended the excellent preparations for the elections in Azerbaijan.
