WNAM REPORT: The convocation of Allama Iqbal Open University’s Balochistan chapter held in Quetta, with Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail as the chief guest. The event was hosted by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood. In his address, Governor Mandokhail praised the university for providing equal and quality education to students in both urban and remote areas of the country. He congratulated the successful students and highlighted the university’s unique position as a leading institution in the world due to its distance learning system. He also emphasized that the university offers educational opportunities to everyone, regardless of age, caste, or religion. The Governor commended the university for using modern digital technology to extend educational opportunities to students across Pakistan as well as overseas Pakistanis.
In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nasir Mahmood mentioned that Allama Iqbal Open University has completed 50 years of academic service and is celebrating its Golden Jubilee. He shared that 5 million students have graduated from the institution, contributing to various sectors across the country. Dr. Mahmood further highlighted the university’s commitment to providing free matriculation education to students in Balochistan and offering fee concessions during times of crisis. Congratulating the students who received gold medals and degrees, he stated that the university is proud of their achievements. The Governor and Vice-Chancellor distributed degrees among the students, with top-performing students receiving gold medals for their outstanding performance.
