WNAM REPORT: In order to encourage businesses to implement joint projects, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan agreed to strengthen work on the establishment of a joint investment fund for development, implementation of the project to build the “Turkmenistan” Business Center and a resort and recreational facility in Kyrgyzstan.
Such decisions were made during the meetings of Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Nazarbek Malayev with Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mamedhan Chakyev, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Babaniyaz Yalakov, Deputy Minister of Energy Serdar Saparov, Chairman of “Turkmennebit” State Corporation Guvanch Agajanov and Head of the International Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Atageldy Haljanov. The meetings were held on the margins of the investment forum, which was held in Ashbagat.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation, including cooperation in trade, energy, industry, investment, transportation and others.
During the discussions, the parties agreed to hold a number of online meetings with the participation of relevant ministries and agencies to consider and implement mechanisms to unify transportation, transit and visa fees, simplify procedures for export, import and transit operations, obtain visas for cargo carriers and increase the validity period of visas to 1 year.
In addition, the parties discussed the export of electricity and oil products from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan, the source said.
