WNAM MONITORING: On September 21st, an ecological action was held at Novkhani beach under the slogan “Save the Caspian” in Baku within the annual International Coastal Cleanup Day.
The event, organized by Coca-Cola, brought together the private sector, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and volunteers.
Global Media Group, which includes media outlets such as Report Information Agency, Media.az, Oxu.az, Baku.ws portals, Baku TV channel, and Kaspi newspaper, served as the official partner of the event.
The aim of the action was to clean the shores of the Caspian Sea from garbage and draw public attention to environmental issues. Speaking at the opening, Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, noted that for 15 years, the country’s citizens and local companies have been actively participating in this action. He emphasized the symbolic importance of starting Caspian Week with joint efforts and expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will be duly represented at the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku this November.
Rovshan Nizamov, a member of the Global Media Group Board, highlighted the necessity of active measures in the face of global challenges like climate change, environmental pollution, and rapid depletion of natural resources. Laura Seyidbayli, Marketing Director of Global Management, also stressed the importance of participating in such initiatives and their efforts to educate the public on environmental protection through active involvement in related projects.
Elshad Farzaliyev, Coca-Cola’s Public Relations Manager, expressed gratitude to all participants and volunteers for their contribution to environmental protection. He noted that the beach cleaning campaign began in early September and thanked the volunteers and all the companies that joined the campaign, emphasizing its significance for the environment.
