RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has demanded an extension of the last date for submission of tax returns. Chamber President Saqib Rafiq said in a statement that FBR’s system (Iris) went slow due to heavy filings.
Due to the closure of banks and other related institutions on Saturdays and Sundays, taxpayers are facing difficulties in obtaining bank accounts and other documents, he added.
System glitch and slowness complaints are coming from members, and traders.
He said that due to the protest by a political party in other cities including Rawalpindi, Islamabad on Friday, taxpayers were facing difficulties in collecting necessary documents related to tax returns.
We demand that the date of submission of tax returns be extended by one month, he further demanded.
