Nashinaas has been singing since 1950. Old timers remember how this Qandhar-born singer set the Thames on fire when he started singing ghazals in Pashto, and Darri from Radio Kabul in 1950s. He fancied singing old ghazals of Kundan Laal Saigol also as he had a special liking for him and, moreover, his voice had a great resemblance to KL Saigol. For quite sometime now he has been living in England after the religious fanatics in Afghanistan made life difficult for him.
Thanks to irresponsible unverified reporting on the social media many of his admirers were shell shocked when it was reported that he has died. They heaved a sigh of relief when that press report turned out to be false .
Nashinaas can be placed in the category of singers like Saigol ,C.H. ATMA,MUKESH,HABIB WALI MOHAMMAD and Jagmohan, all unfortunately dead now.
