WNAM REPORT:  “Our youth are counted among the most talented globally. They should shape their future within Pakistan rather than seeking it abroad. There are more opportunities here than in foreign countries. What is needed is to guide them in the right direction,” said Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, while addressing a conference on the topic of ‘Creative Leadership’ at Allama Iqbal Open University as the guest of honor. He emphasized the importance of providing uninterrupted access to essential facilities like the internet for the youth, stating that frequent road closures lead to frustration among them. “It is the shared responsibility of all of us, including universities, to nurture the creative talents of the new generation and prepare them as future leaders. This conference is a step towards realizing that vision,” he added.
The Minister for Rural Development of Azad Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, also spoke, commending the initiative of organizing a conference on such a crucial topic. He pointed out that while it is fortunate to have such a large youthful population, it is unfortunate that they remain divided. “We need to bring them under one umbrella to form a united nation, which is essential for the development and stability of the country,” he said.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood Vice Chancellor AIOU remarked, “Education is the only path through which one can gain an advantage over others. Our youth lack no talent, and Pakistani youth have proven their abilities in every field of life.”
The conference was organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) in collaboration with Volunteer Force Pakistan. Other speakers included President of Volunteer Force Usman Raza Julaha, ORIC’s Additional Director Dr. Saima Nasir, Raheel Nazir Chaudhary, Allison Reniew, and Umaima Iftikhar. The speakers emphasized that in today’s world, leadership is not merely about power but rests on the pillars of cooperation, creative thinking, and innovation. They stated that the purpose of gathering at this event was to equip the youth with the skills that will make them stand out in future leadership roles.
