WNAM MONITORING: Bauyryna Salu film directed by Askhat Kuchincherekov with the support of the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry and national cinema support center won the top honors at the Baku International Film Festival 2024 in Azerbaijan, Kazinform News Agency learnt form the Kazakh Ministry’s press service.
The head of the jury, laureate of the Golden Globe award Siddik Bayram highly assessed the Kazakh movie. He said Bauyryna Salu is one of the most intense films in Central Asia. It reveals the national tradition when children are raised by elder relatives and the delicate sensitivity of a child’s soul. He also expressed confidence that the film would scale further and reach new heights.
As earlier reported, Kazakhstan has just chosen its contender, the coming-of-age film Bauyryna Salu by Askhat Kuchinchirekov, as countries are quickly submitting their entries for the 97th Oscars in the Best International Feature category before the November 14 deadline, according to a report from Kazinform News Agency, which references The Hollywood Reporter.
