WNAM MONITORING: By the end of August 2024, Chinese companies had invested $4.18 billion in projects in Turkmenistan. This figure was discussed at the third meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Working Group on Investment Cooperation, held on Monday in Ashgabat.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of agreements reached during the May 2023 “Central Asia–China” summit and outlined key areas for future cooperation.
Additionally, both sides agreed to expand mutual investments and strengthen working mechanisms in priority sectors.
The Turkmen delegation presented measures aimed at improving the investment climate and the process of the country’s accession to the WTO, while Chinese representatives reported on the progress of projects in the oil and gas, transportation, and chemical industries.
Representatives of various ministries and state corporations from both countries participated in the meeting, reinforcing dialogue and enhancing investment relations.
