WNAM REPORT: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), in collaboration with the Volunteer Force Pakistan , successfully organized the Creative Leadership Conference (CLC) at its campus. The event featured prominent speakers, including Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, who served as the Chief Guest. In a powerful address at the conference, he emphasized the exceptional talent of Pakistani youth, urging them to shape their futures within the country rather than seeking opportunities abroad. Mr. Kundi highlighted that there are more opportunities available in Pakistan than in foreign nations and stressed the need to provide proper guidance and direction to the youth. Governor Kundi also underscored the importance of uninterrupted access to essential services, including the internet, for the younger generation, noting that road closures lead to increasing frustration among them. “It is our collective responsibility, including that of universities, to nurture the creative talents of the new generation and help them become the leaders of tomorrow. This conference is a step towards realizing that dream,” he stated.
Addressing the audience, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Minister for Rural Development in Azad Kashmir, remarked on the significance of the conference, describing it as a timely initiative. He noted that while Pakistan is fortunate to have a large population of youth, they are unfortunately fragmented. “We need to unite them under one umbrella to build a cohesive nation, which is essential for the development and stability of the country,” he added.
Prof. Dr. Nasir Mehmood Vice Chancellor AIOU spoke about the critical role of education, stating, “Education is the only path through which you can gain an advantage over others. Our youth are not lacking in talent; they have proven their capabilities in every field.” Other notable speakers included Usman Raza Jolaha, President of the VFP, and Dr. Saima Nasir, Additional Director ORIC. The panel also featured Raheel Nazir Chaudhry, Allayson Reneau, and Umaima Iftikhar.
The speakers collectively emphasized that leadership skills in today’s world are not merely a display of power but are built on collaboration, creative thinking, and innovation. They expressed their commitment to equipping youth with the skills needed to excel in future leadership roles.
