WNAM REPORT: The results of the competition “Turkmen embroidery is our national treasure” were summed up at the Center of Public Organizations of Ashgabat.
The competition was organized jointly by the Central Council of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan, the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio and Cinematography.
As per reports, “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, according to the terms of the competition, the best needlewomen from all regions of the country competed in the mastery of traditional embroidery, as well as knowledge of the history of Turkmen ornaments and patterns.
The winners of the competition were determined through SMS voting, in which every citizen of Turkmenistan could take part.
