WNAM REPORT: The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) stated that Indonesia has an important role in the global Hajj financial management ecosystem, given its status as home to the world’s second-largest Muslim population.
“Indonesia, with a large Muslim population, has a unique opportunity to become a global center for sharia economics and finance,” Head of BPKH’s Executive Board, Fadlul Imansyah, stated at the International Hajj Financial Forum at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.
The forum, held in collaboration between BPKH and Bank Indonesia, aims to strengthen the management of Hajj funds and expand the penetration of Hajj and Umrah support products from Indonesia in the Saudi Arabian market.
He remarked that BPKH has been working actively to improve the management of Hajj funds through various initiatives, including direct investment in Saudi Arabia by BPKH Limited as a subsidiary of BPKH in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
It aims to maximize refunds while ensuring the funding is utilized for the benefit of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
“By expanding market strategies and promoting high-quality and customized services, Indonesia can significantly improve the Hajj pilgrimage experiences,” he explained.
In line with Imansyah’s statement, Assistant Governor of BI Dicky Kartikoyono stated that by encouraging collaboration and sharing best practices, the forum aims to pave the way for a more sustainable and effective Hajj management system.
“Through this conference, it was hoped that there are various strategic initiatives to improve Hajj management,” he remarked.
