WNAM REPORT: A large-scale event was held in Tashkent in honor of the Victory Day of Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan.
It was attended by figures of science, culture, and art of Uzbekistan, writers and poets, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, university students, and media representatives. An exhibition of photographs and books dedicated to the significant date was organized in the foyer of the Center.
Deputy Director of the Center Nadir Alimirzayev spoke about the 44-day Patriotic War and the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers. As a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s far-sighted policy and the courage of the army, Azerbaijan won a historic victory, liberating its lands after 28 years of occupation.
According to the Order of President Ilham Aliyev “On the establishment of Victory Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, signed on December 3, 2020, November 8 – the day of the liberation of Shusha, which is considered the crown of Karabakh, the cradle of Azerbaijani culture – is celebrated as Victory Day.
After the official part, a concert was held. Songs were performed in Azerbaijani and Uzbek languages, and members of the dance ensemble “Azerbaijan” demonstrated national dances.
