WNAM REPORT: A new educational project in Dubai is set to transform the traditional idea of school education by integrating video games into the learning process. Citizens School, led by Dr. Adil Alzaruni, is developing a program that will introduce children to gaming technology from the age of three .
The project aims to change the public perception of video games. According to Dr. Alzaruni, the gaming industry, which is larger than the music and film industries combined, offers great opportunities for the professional development of young people. In the UAE, a quarter of the population is predicted to become active gamers, and in Saudi Arabia, this figure will reach 60%.
Particular attention is paid to working with parents, many of whom have a negative attitude towards children’s passion for video games. Dr. Alzaruni emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach, where games become part of a child’s comprehensive development, combining mental and physical activity.
“The gaming experience combined with education is an innovative and forward-thinking solution that requires support from both society and parents,” says the project manager.
