The manner in which the Prime Minister has been working overtime to put the economy of the country back on the rails is simply commendable. He certainly deserves hosannas for running from pillar to post trying to explore all possible avenues that could extricate his country from the quagmire of economic repression despite the fact that he is long in the tooth and is also not keeping good health wax eloquent of his commitment to his duties.
Many of the functions which otherwise should have been performed by foreign minister are being looked after by him Since late Z A Bhutto the country hasn’t seen such an agile premier like the present incumbent of this office.
POSTSCRIPT
The recent observations made by the permanent representative of Pakistan in the UN about failure of the security council to checkmate atrocities of Tel Aviv in the middle east and India in Kashmir need to be taken seriously by those who matter in the UN otherwise the fate of this world body won’t be very much different from the League of nations.
