WNAM REPORT: As part of the 29th Session of COP 29 in Baku, the First Meeting of the Ministers of Environment and Ecology of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took place in the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, COP29 President-Designate, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov, Ministers of Environmental Protection of the OTS Member States.The participants discussed opportunities and proposals to strengthen environmental partnership. It was organized to expand cooperation in environmental protection, ecology, and climate change and to unify the Turkic countries’ common views on COP29 and in the UNFCCC negotiations.Following the meeting, the Declaration of the First Meeting of the Ministers of Ecology and Environment of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was signed.
