WNAM REPORT: President Prabowo Subianto arrived at London’s Stansted Airport on Wednesday local time to continue with the next leg of his diplomatic tour at the invitation of King Charles III.

The Presidential Secretariat, in its written statement here, reported that the president is accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya for his UK visit.

Prabowo was welcomed at the airport by Special Representative for the Foreign Secretary Adele Taylor MBE, British Ambassador for Indonesia Dominic Jermey CVO OBE, Indonesian Ambassador for the UK Desra Percaya, and its Defense Attaché Colonel Faishal Ridlwan.

During his visit to London, Prabowo is expected to meet King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Deputy PM Angela Rayner. He is also scheduled to attend the CEO Roundtable Forum.

Meanwhile, the president’s visit to London has sparked enthusiasm among Indonesian students in the UK, according to Prabowo Subianto’s media team’s written statement.

Among the enthused pupils was Swara Reiki January, the head of the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) in London, who considered welcoming and meeting the president during his UK visit an “unforgettable experience.”

“I have never met the president before, and I met him now. It motivates me to study more diligently,” Reiki, currently enrolled at Goldsmiths University of London, stated.

Meanwhile, Tessalonika Sitorus, an executive member of PPI London and a student of the Queen Mary University of London, stated that her side had made thorough preparations to welcome Prabowo and present a flower bouquet to him at his hotel.

Similarly, Nicholas Chang stated that working with his colleagues to welcome the president would be an impressive experience during his study at Bayes Business School in London.

“We have prepared for the last three days. We joined the advance team back and forth. We surveyed the airport and the hotel where President Prabowo stays,” Chang recounted his team’s efforts to welcome the president.

President Prabowo has so far completed his visits to China, the United States, and then Peru to attend the 2024 APEC Summit in Lima and Brazil for the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
