WNAM REPORT: By presidential order, major general Yerzhan Ibrayev has been named the new commander of the ‘South’ Regional Command, as per reports.
Born in Semey in 1978, Ibrayev graduated from the Almaty Higher Military School, National Defense University and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.
Ibrayev rose from the rank of lieutenant to colonel, received the second class Aibyn order, governmental awards and jubilee medals.
Prior to his appointment, Ibrayev took the post of the commander of the ‘Astana’ Regional Command.
Earlier it was reported that Makhsut Gusseinov was appointed as the new commander of the ‘Astana’ Regional Command.
