WNAM Monitoring: The President of Uzbekistan defined tasks for developing promising geological areas during his visit to the Uzbekneftegaz JSC during November this year.
At the meeting on Monday responsible sector leaders reported on the progress of these tasks and presented information on the geological exploration and production work program for 2024.
It was noted that work is being carried out in two directions – maintaining gas production volumes at existing fields and identifying new reserves. In recent years, geological research depth has increased from 2-3 kilometers to 4-5 kilometers. As a result, new gas reserves were discovered, and an additional 4.4 billion cubic meters of this raw material were produced.
An international consulting company was also involved, with the assistance of which it was possible to identify many promising areas.
In continuation of this work, next year, seismic work is planned on an area of 3.5 thousand square kilometers, and new exploration wells will be drilled.
The issue of attracting foreign investment and providing working capital to industry enterprises was discussed at the meeting.
The ways of transitioning from geological drilling to a 6-7 kilometers depth using advanced technologies were considered.
The importance of uninterrupted energy supplies and ensuring payment discipline in the regions and at large enterprises was emphasized.
