Jakarta (WNAM MONITORING): Community empowerment through strengthening MSMEs and cooperatives, as well as fostering a sustainable creative economy, remains key to improving community welfare and the national economy inclusively.
This was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar during a dialogue on local economic development with the community and businesspeople in Wonosobo, Central Java.
“Hence, MSMEs, the creative economy, and cooperatives are integral parts of empowerment aimed at alleviating poverty,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He expressed confidence that MSMEs, cooperatives, and creative economy actors in the district play a crucial role in eradicating poverty and extreme poverty in Central Java.
He emphasized that all parties—business actors, local governments, and the central government—must collaborate to develop the local economy and address poverty in areas with high poverty rates.
Iskandar affirmed the government’s commitment to striving for the development of economic actors in the regions.
He expressed his intent to encourage MSMEs, cooperatives, and creative economic businesses in areas with significant poverty, enabling them to become empowered and self-reliant.
“We are targeting the growth of as many businesspeople as possible. The most important aspect is building a business ecosystem that allows them to achieve independence,” Iskandar remarked.
