WNAM MONITORING: Prior to COP29, about 200 media organizations worldwide were spreading negative information about Azerbaijan, reads a report of the Parliamentary Commission on Countering External Interference and Hybrid Threats.
The report emphasizes that some forces raised the issue of the absence of women in the COP29 Organizing Committee: “However, after this issue was resolved, finding no new pretexts, they returned to human rights topics unrelated to the climate conference, particularly regarding the release without trial of persons of Armenian origin who committed war crimes against Azerbaijan and our people, as well as issues of peace with Armenia. A broad campaign continues mainly on these latter topics.”
During the preparation of the report, the Azerbaijani parliamentary commission found that over the past period, as part of the media campaign, at least 25 influential and about 180 less popular media organizations worldwide were spreading negative information about Azerbaijan.
