WNAM REPORT: Starting from June 30, 2025, digital profiles containing personal and biometric data will be created to facilitate monitoring the status of migrants entering Russia.
According to reports, from June 30, 2025, foreign citizens entering Russia through any entry point will be required to submit their fingerprints and photographs. This information will also form the basis of the digital profile.
Russian Ministry of Digital Development stated that foreigners can create their own digital profile in the RuID application if they wish. This app, developed as part of an experiment, will serve as an analogue of government services for foreigners.
In the RuID app, migrants can provide information about their visit to Russia and access various services in the country, such as applying for medical insurance or registering with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The changes will not apply to Belarusian citizens, children under six years old, diplomats, and employees of foreign states’ diplomatic missions and consular offices in Russia and their family members, as well as employees of international organizations and their representative offices accredited in Russia, and their family members.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, emphasized the importance of using modern technologies to control the entry and subsequent movements of migrants into Russia.
