ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Practical exam for the first batch of BS Health and Physical Education at Allama Iqbal Open University held on Saturday. After practical exam, the program coordinator, Dr. Manzah Anbarin, spoke with the students and said that there had been a noticeable lack of physical education. Following the directives of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, the university introduced BS Health and Physical Education program in the Fall 2024 semester to promote a healthy society, enhance the mental abilities of the youth, keep them physically fit, and revitalize the sports fields. This was aimed at addressing the existing gap in physical education. Dr. Anbarin further mentioned that physical education would help foster a sports culture in the country. She praised the efforts of resource person Ayaz Hussain and expressed her best wishes to the students.
Chairperson of the Secondary Teacher Education program, Dr. Naveed Sultana, stated that initiation of this program was the realization of her dream. She added that in today’s era of social media, the importance of health and physical education has become even more significant.
Dr. Tanveer Afzal and the Director of Islamabad Region, Ahsen Shakoor, were also present during the practical exam. They encouraged the students by saying that physical education would help them develop their abilities and excel in every field.
