WNAM MONITORING: Moguls and Aerials events of the FIS Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships, which were held at the Shymbulak ski resort, have wrapped up in Almaty.
Team Kazakhstan claimed several medals in the moguls. Kazakhstan’s Anastassiya Gorodko won silver in singles events on the first day. Then, Gorodko outperformed her opponents in the dual moguls event, becoming three-time world champion in the Freestyle Moguls.
On the third day of the tournament, Kazakhstan’s Yuliya Feklistova and Denis Rastruba claimed silver in the dual moguls team event. Advancing to the final, the Kazakhstani freestyle skiers lost to Team USA 2 consisting of Reese Chapdelaine and Jiah Cohen. The USA 3 team secured a bronze medal.
Dinmukhammed Raiymkulov pocketed historic first freestyle aerials gold for Kazakhstan. In the final round, Dinmukhammed scored 104.52 points to eke out a win. Coming in second was Yang Yuheng with a result of 101.79. Yang Zhicheng finished third with 94.82 points. In the women’s event, all medals went to the Chinese women.
On the final day of the FIS Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships, Kazakhstan-2 team including Adelina Umurzakova, Roman Pogosyan, and Ulanbakir Umurzakov secured 6th place, and Kazakhstan-1 team consisting of Raimkul Dynmukhammed, Ardana Makhanova, and Assan Assylkhan took 7th position.
Team Kazakhstan pocketed 2 gold and 2 silver medals, taking second place after China’s national team (2 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) in the overall standings of the tournament. Team Japan wrapped up the tournament grabbing 2 golds and 1 bronze.
As reported earlier, Kazakhstan’s Kenzhibayeva has won the W15 Antalya Tournament title in Türkiye.
