WNAM REPORT: During the official visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Russia, it is planned to sign the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Moscow and Tehran. The key event of the visit will be negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.
Upon arrival at the airport, the Iranian leader was met by a Russian delegation headed by Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev. The delegation also included Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko and Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Igor Bogdashev.
The welcoming ceremony was held with all official honors: the Iranian President walked along the red carpet to a special airport terminal to the sounds of the national anthems of both countries performed by a military orchestra, and a guard of honor was lined up along the carpet.
The upcoming meeting will be the third for the leaders of the two states. Putin and Pezeschkian previously met twice in October last year – at the international forum in Ashgabat and the BRICS summit in Kazan.
