WNAM MONITORING: Representatives from Pakistan’s financial market have expressed keen interest in expanding their presence in Azerbaijan’s financial sector, Khurram Javaid Bhatti, President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Chamber of Economic Cooperation (PAKAZCHAM).
Bhatti revealed that a major Pakistani bank, which already conducts some operations in Azerbaijan, plans to broaden its activities in the country. He did not disclose the bank’s name.
In addition, several Pakistani insurance companies are also eyeing opportunities in the Azerbaijani market. PAKAZCHAM is acting as a facilitator for cooperation between the insurance associations of Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
“This partnership will create opportunities for insurance companies from both countries to collaborate, identify cross-border clients, and develop cross-border products,” Bhatti stated. “Not only will this strengthen the insurance sectors of both nations, but it will also contribute to the overall economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.”
Bhatti said preliminary discussions are underway regarding collaboration between the stock exchanges of the two countries as well.
He noted, “This partnership can provide an excellent platform for dual listing, cross-border investments, and knowledge sharing, significantly bolstering financial cooperation between the two countries and opening up new avenues for economic growth and development.”
