ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): On the occasion of the Vietnamese new Lunar Year, the Ambassador of Vietnam in Pakistan H.E. Mr. Pham Anh Tuan and his spouse hosted a dinner reception. The simple and impressive ceremony was attended by the ASEAN Ambassadors, former Ambassadors of Pakistan to Vietnam, retired and sitting government high ups, business community leaders including Mohammad Waseem Chaudhry, Mohammad Imran Minhas Executive members of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and senior journalists of the capital.
On the occasion, the Ambassador of Vietnam delivered a speech pertaining to Vietnam’s policy of peace and friendship globally, its progress and prosperity and strong and ever increasing relations with Pakistan.

Dear compatriots, ladies and gentlemen,
Every Tet holiday, Vietnamese people, wherever they may be, turn their thoughts toward their families, ancestors, homeland, and country, and feel an immense nostalgia, wishing to come back to their homeland for a family reunion and a taste of the particular flavours of Tet Holiday. Today, we are delighted to welcome representatives of the Vietnamese community who living, studying, and working in Pakistan, along with close friends of the Viet Nam Embassy in Pakistan, gathered the common home of Vietnam in Pakistan to share the atmosphere of Vietnamese Tet, enjoy traditional Vietnamese cuisine, and together look towards our homeland and beloved families.
Dear compatriots, ladies and gentlemen,
Looking back 2024, Viet Nam has achieved many outstanding accomplishments across all fields: stable Macroeconomy; ensured national defense and security as well as social security and welfare; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development; the people’s lives continue to improve; the country’s international stance and prestige has been continuously enhanced.
Viet Nam has become a regional and global growth highlight with a 7.09% growth rate, the highest in the past 15 years; Viet Nam continues to be a safe and attractive destination for international investors, ranking among the top 15 countries attracting the most FDI (foreign direct investment) globally with nearly 40 billion USD; import-export turnover reached nearly 800 billion USD – the highest ever; the number of international tourists to Viet Nam reached nearly 18 million, an increase of 39.5% compared to 2023.
In this context, Viet Nam-Pakistan relations have also continued their strong development momentum. Economic and trade exchanges between the two countries in 2024 also witnessed remarkable development, becoming increasingly extensive and more effective. Two-way trade reached over 800 million USD, an increase of more than 21% compared to 2023. In October 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had an important meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the 8th Future Investment Initiative. At the meeting, the two Prime Ministers affirmed determination to strive to lift two-way trade to over 1 billion USD in the coming time.
The two Prime Ministers also agreed to promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level visits, and increase tourist exchanges to contribute to further strengthening the relationship between the Leaders and Peoples of the two countries in all fields. To achieve these goals, in 2025, the Embassy has planned to organize many activities to promote politics, economics, and culture and looks forward to the active participation of the community. The Viet Nam Embassy in Pakistan will always be a common home and a solid bridge accompanying the community in all activities to together build an increasingly cohesive and developing Vietnamese community in Pakistan.
Dear compatriots, ladies and gentlemen,
Spring is coming to our homeland and to the heart of every Vietnamese person. Despite the many difficulties and challenges, the potential and opportunities for development of our country and of Viet Nam-Pakistan relations are enormous. Let us all unite to build the community, help each other strive to rise, preserve and promote the beautiful image of Vietnamese people and culture in the eyes of Pakistani friends, always look towards our homeland, and actively support the movement to build and protect the Fatherland in Viet Nam. I believe that 2025 will promise new and positive developments in Viet Nam-Pakistan relations.
